iPod XS proves small is sexy

Whoever said big is beautiful is wrong. The iPod XS proves it, the coin-sized audio player looking cooler than the nano despite being less than half the size. In fact it’s so small it’ll fit just about anywhere, comparable to a 10p piece albeit twice as thick. Unfortunately that means it’s just as easy to lose in a pocketful of change!
But before you get too excited and rush down to your nearest Apple store, the iPod XS is just a concept idea from the clever people over at Yanko Design. Shame, because we’d splash out on one straight away. Admittedly the design is a flawed – the screen is on the opposite side of the player to the controls, so you can skip tracks and look at what’s playing at the same time – but it’s still a stroke of design genius.

Cell Phones with Style: Nokia's L'Amour Collection
First, Motorola came out with the pink RAZR. Now, Nokia has decided to best it with a line of fashion phones named aptly the L’Amour Collection. Obviously marketed towards women and teens, these phones run from the extremely slim and expensive 7380 ($600)—which first appeared yesterday—to the affordable, attractive 7360 ($300). Throw in the middle of the road 7370 swivel phone ($450) and you’ve got L’Amour baby. Think stenciled designs, velvet-lined pouches and all kinds of finishes, colors and materials.
The 7380 comes with a 2-megapixel camera and MP3 player, and has an etched mirrored surface with a keyless dial. The 7370 uses only a 1.3 megapixel camera, comes with stereo speakers and includes leather-inspired faceplates. Lastly, for those slummin’ it, the 7360 has a VGA camera, stereo FM radio and comes in coffee brown and warm amber.

The Future has arrived...for paper

Over the last few months, e-paper has been inching out of the sci-fi realm and into reality. And now… it’s here. E-Ink is selling prototype developer kits for creating your own 6-inch e-paper display. This is the same “microencapsulated electrophoretic” TFT active matrix display used in the Sony LIBRIé reader. The kit comes with a Gumstix single-board CPU running an Intel XScale PXA255 processor pre-installed with Linux. The board offers multiple input-output options including Bluetooth, USB and serial. An MMC Card reader and a 256 MB card is included, along with a rechargeable Li-Ion battery and power adapter. Dev software, source code and documentation are in there too, of course.
The E-Ink kits are available on a first come first serve basis, and begin shipping November 1. The price: $3,000. A bargain considering the multitude of cool and strange devices you can make with this kit. Post ideas about what you would build in comments. And don’t forget to send us photos of the finished product.
Update:Don’t miss the 400x300 full color display.

myTego.com Model

This fabolous number comes in whatever design you want and the perfect shape for your model. All I can say is "Hot!" Not to mention the girl is pretty good looking herself.

TREO 650 myTego.com style

This Treo 650 which is highly touted for 2005 includes Bluetooth, a higher resolution LCD screen, a faster processor, and a removable battery. The stuff we are disappointed by: still only 32MB of memory, supposedly some carriers will be crippling the Bluetooth, and the camera is still only VGA quality—no bump up to 1.3 megapixels. Here also a look of the Treo 650 with the help of myTego.com. This product along with the myTego.com skin was also featured in the LA Times on Sept.1, 2005

LandRoller breaks away from the blade with two large, side-mounted, out-of-line wheels angled so they roll astride the centerline of the boot and maintain a low center of gravity. The result: Greater stability, better maneuverability, longer glide time, a smoother, chatter-free ride and easier braking. Flat-free, air-ride tires that allow true all-terrain capabilities will be available soon!

Well dpn't wprry about that because Nintendo has rebranded their Play-Yan multimedia device for the Gameboy Micro. It works by streaming data from an SD card through the Micro.
